June's blooming prairie

A look north towards the ponds. This area is generally refered to as "The Waterway."  Ohio Spiderwort blooming purple in the foreground here.
Another Waterway view.

This area is the northern section of the prairie that received the spring, controlled burn. Take note: there's virtually no dead vegetation in sight.

The buffer zone mowed into the prairie. Notice the difference between even the mowed prairie, which did not receive the burn, and the untouched section.

The section to the right(north) was the zone that underwent the burn while the bit to the left(south) was left alone.

This is the burned section that sits to the east of the driveway. Penstemon grandiflorus or Large-flowered Beardtongue seen in the foreground blooming.
The section to the east of the driveway to the nursery that is referred to as "The Pollinator." Golden Alexanders, Dandelions, and Large-flowered Beardtongue bloom. This area is dedicated to personal favorites of the caretakers... The most showy reign.
